Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 7, 2026
Music In Everything Corporation (“MIE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit mie.ngo, donate, purchase, register for a program or event, join our mailing list, contact us, volunteer, apply for a role, or otherwise interact with us online. MIE is a New Jersey nonprofit corporation recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide may include your name, email address, telephone number, mailing or billing address, donation or purchase details, communication preferences, program or event registration information, volunteer or employment-application materials, messages, and other information you choose to provide. If you create an account, we may collect account credentials and activity. Please do not submit sensitive information unless we specifically request it through an appropriate process.
2. Donations, Payments, and Purchases
Payment providers such as PayPal and Squarespace’s commerce partners process payment-card and bank information under their own privacy policies. MIE generally receives transaction details—such as donor or customer name, contact information, amount, date, campaign, and payment status—but not complete payment-card credentials. We use this information to process transactions, provide receipts, administer recurring gifts, prevent fraud, maintain financial and tax records, and respond to support requests.
3. Youth and Children’s Privacy
Our general website, donation, newsletter, and contact forms are not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not submit personal information through them. A parent or legal guardian must submit and consent to information needed for a child’s program participation. If we learn that we collected personal information directly from a child under 13 without appropriate parental authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Parents or guardians may contact support@mie.ngo regarding a child’s information.
4. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the website, we and our service providers may automatically receive technical and usage information, including IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, dates and times, and interactions with website features. We may collect this through cookies, pixels, logs, and similar technologies.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to operate and improve the website; process donations, purchases, registrations, and requests; deliver programs and events; communicate with donors, families, participants, volunteers, applicants, and supporters; send newsletters or fundraising messages with your consent or as permitted by law; provide receipts and records; personalize and measure our services; detect fraud and security threats; comply with law and grant, tax, accounting, and reporting obligations; and protect MIE and our community.
6. Cookies and Analytics
Squarespace and other service providers may use necessary, functional, performance, and analytics cookies. Necessary cookies support security and core site functions. Optional technologies may help us understand website use and communications performance. Where required, we request consent before using nonessential cookies. You can use our cookie banner or browser settings to control cookies; disabling them may affect functionality. MIE does not currently use the website to sell personal information or deliver third-party targeted advertising.
7. Email and Fundraising Communications
If you subscribe, donate, register, or otherwise request updates, we may send mission, program, event, and fundraising communications. Mailchimp or another email provider may process your contact information and engagement data for us. You may unsubscribe through the link in a marketing email or contact us. We may still send nonmarketing messages about transactions, safety, programs, or legal matters.
8. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information to vendors that help us host the website, process payments, send email, provide analytics, fulfill orders, manage registrations, secure systems, or provide professional services. We may also disclose information when required by law; to protect rights, safety, and security; in connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of assets; or with your direction or consent. Vendors may use information only for the services they provide to us, subject to their agreements and applicable law. We do not sell personal information.
9. Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including program administration, donor stewardship, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal, tax, accounting, grant, and recordkeeping obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, contact us promptly at support@mie.ngo.
11. Your Choices and Requests
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails, adjust cookie choices where available, and request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we maintain about you. You may also object to or request restriction of certain uses where applicable. We may verify your identity, retain information required by law, or deny a request when permitted by law. Authorized agents and appeal rights will be handled where applicable. Submit requests to support@mie.ngo.
12. Third-Party Sites and International Processing
Our website links to services operated by others, including PayPal, Mailchimp, social networks, and retailers. Their privacy policies govern their services. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate. Where required, we use legally recognized protections for cross-border transfers.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy and update the effective date. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law. Your continued use after an update means the revised policy applies to subsequent activity; it does not reduce rights you already have under applicable law.
