In this engaging and interactive curriculum, students will have the opportunity to delve into the captivating world of sounds. Through meaningful discussions and learning from their peers, they will not only explore the intricacies of sound waves but also gain a deeper understanding of various music forms and file formats such as .mp3 and .wav. Furthermore, they will actively participate in reading, thought-provoking discussions, and problem-solving activities, all centered around the fascinating subject of sound.

Mathematics

In our engaging curriculum, students will have the enriching opportunity to delve into the captivating realm where math and music seamlessly intertwine. Through our meticulously designed lessons, meticulously crafted projects, and hands-on activities, pupils will acquire a profound understanding of various math concepts embedded within the essence of music. By immersing themselves in the exploration of patterns, intervals, ratios, and even delving into the depths of trigonometry, students will not only cultivate a deeper appreciation for the harmonious symphony of numbers and melodies, but also witness a remarkable enhancement in their mathematical prowess.

Music Literature

This innovative approach effectively incorporates the mediums of music, literature, and language arts to impart vocabulary and grammar knowledge via the medium of songwriting. By closely examining song lyrics and actively participating in collaborative learning activities, students are able to enhance their literacy abilities in a meaningful manner.

An in-person, remote or mobile music recording studio project with the students as part of the Creation Phase of Bloom’s taxonomy.  Students will be able to demonstrate their consolidated learning by producing new and original work.

Project-based Learning

MIE Teachers assess and guide students to efficiently listen to diverse music, identify musical characteristics, recognize their instrument sounds, and categorize instruments while explaining music.

The perfect accompaniment to the ADAM K-7, the diagnostic math assessment. Data from the 44 sub-tests in ADAM K-7 are used to prescribe LGL Math Edge online courses for supplemental instruction, if needed. Students enter the appropriate level of instruction based on their strengths and weaknesses. With Let’s Go Learn, every learning event is customized to a student’s needs.

Unique web-based differentiated instruction, designed to give students the extra edge they need to successfully begin Algebra I. Based on the built-in diagnostic assessments, students will not waste time covering materials they have already mastered.
